7 Nations are joining the Visa Waiver Program
In October 2008, the Federal Government expanded its Visa Waiver Program to include South Korea and six Eastern European Countries: Hungary, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Slovak Republic. Citizens of these countries are now able to enter the United States for up to three months without applying for a visa at the U.S Embassy in their home country. These seven countries are joining 27 participating nations already benefiting from the Visa Waiver Program. This expansion will increase tourism, business and student travel.
